A meeting between representatives of the project LIFE11 ENV / GR / 942 oLIVE-CLIMA and the Interministerial Working Group for amending the institutional framework of environmental licensing for olive mills was held on 27.09.2016 at the premises of the Directorate for Environmental Licensing of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, in Athens.
The meeting was held as part of the consultation on the forthcoming amendment of the Joint Ministerial Decision points concerning the definition of Standard Environmental Commitments for olive mills.
The oLIVE-CLIMA is in place for four years (4), with the support of the LIFE + program of the European Union. Its applications for olive mill waste management have emerged useful conclusions, which have been exploited in the process of drafting the amendment of the Joint Ministerial Decision.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Special Secretariat for Water and the Directorate of Environmental Licensing of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Directorate of Licensing Operations & Business Parks of the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, the Directorate of Physical Planning and Protection of the Ministry of Rural Development & Food. The oLIVE-CLIMA was represented by Development Agency of Eastern Thessaloniki’s Local Authorities – ANATOLIKI SA, Athens Department of Soil Science and Olive Institute of Subtropical Plants and vITICULTURE of the Hellenic Agricultural Organization ELGO-Demeter.
